LEARN TO SWIM

Beginner swimmers learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: swim, float, swim—sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide and exit—and jump, push, turn
.
As swimmers progress, they are taught in swim lessons the recommended skills for all to have around water, including safe water habits, underwater exploration and how to swim to safety and exit in the event of falling into a body of water

ADVANCED SWIMMING LESSONS

After having mastered the fundamentals, swimmers learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique. Swimmers work on refining stroke technique and learning all major competitive strokes in swimming lessons.

The emphasis on water safety continues through treading water and sidestroke. Swimmers will learn about competitive swimming and discover how to incorporate swimming into a healthy lifestyle.

TEEN & ADULT SWIM LESSONS

No matter your age, water safety is important. Whether joining swim lessons to gain basic water safety skills, get over a fear of the water, or develop swimming techniques, we have options for teens and adults of all ages. Group swim lessons, semi-private, private and even Masters Swim programs are available through WSSA

For parents, your family is safer around water when you are comfortable around water and have the adult swimming skills to keep yourself and your children safe.

HELPFUL TIP

Expect some repetition

In our experience, students may need additional time to work on skills. We don’t rush students to the next level on their Swim Path® until they’re ready – that would be unsafe and would shortcut their learning. Often, younger students will repeat a level, sometimes simply because their bodies are growing in spurts and it takes some time for their strength and coordination to sync up.

PRE COMPETITIVE

Swimmers graduate from our Learn-to-Swim lessons, they are ready to continue with our Pre-Competitive Swim Programs.

Once enrolled, they will continue to learn the skills which will develop into the 4 competitive swim strokes.

Our small class sizes allow the coaches to modify each drill or progression to maximize each individual's level of comprehension and acquisition of each skill.  When swimmers have completed all levels of the program they will be ready to join a competitive swim team armed with all the skills they need for long-term success in the sport.

If they choose not to pursue competitive swimming as a sporting option they will have gained the ability and knowledge to be safe around water, a positive attitude towards being active and proper swimming techniques that they will have for a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment.
